Chief Building Engineer

Michael Morris

Beginning in August of 2006, as a maintenance technician with Burns Commercial Properties, Michael’s career has taken him from the smaller market of Tyler to the mass market of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex—and back.

While in DFW, Michael spent his first several years running low and mid-rise office buildings in Irving, Addison, and Plano.  Then, in 2019, he decided to sharpen his skills in HVAC at Lindsey Cooper Refrigeration school.  In 2020, during the pandemic, he followed that training up by attaining his Universal EPA certification from Trade Masters Online.  These decisions helped Michael break into the million-plus-square-foot market, where he worked as Lead Engineer, at the most iconic buildings of their respective cities—Burnett Plaza in Fort Worth and Bank of America Plaza in Dallas.

Longing to bring his family home, Mike has returned to Burns Commercial Properties as Chief Building Engineer.  He hopes to utilize his near two decades of experience in commercial real estate as the humble leader of the best engineering team in Texas.
